So last Tuesday I jetted off to Amsterdam for a work conference for 3 nights, I have a few conferences per year and Amsterdam is probably my favourite one. I just love the city and if I could I would totally live there.
We arrived about 11am, dropped our bags off at the hotel and headed straight to Dam Square with my colleagues. It was their first time there so we went for a wander around.
My first stop was for a Nutella waffle – my favourite. We then wandered around the red light district for a nosy and stopped off for a beer at Euro Pub back in Dam Square. I left my colleagues enjoying a beer in the sun and I went off to do some shopping. Which was quite unsuccessful, I was looking for some cute summer dresses but I couldn’t find anything I liked.
The rest of my Tuesday was spent at a networking event. Wednesday was the first day of the conference so I was up early to meet everyone for breakfast. Wednesday evening, I planned a pub crawl for some clients, which was a great way to see a little more of the city while we were going from bar to bar.
The evening ended at 2am in ‘Club Nasty’ in Rembrandt Square, it’s safe to say there were a lot of sleepy people at the conference the next day. Thursday evening we headed out to CAU just of Dam Square for something to eat and after to Euro Pub again for a couple of drinks before turning in for the evening. I was up for an early flight and was still lagging from Wednesday night partying!
So in all it was a short, but awesome trip. I enjoy going on work trips and meeting up with people I speak regular to via Skype and email and catching up in person, I usually only have a few hours of ‘free time’ so I have to squeeze in as much as possible and that is usually shopping!
