I’m not going to lie beauty blogging can get expensive when you start, because well you need things to blog about right, but there are ways you can cut costs and today I’m going to share with you my tips:

Review products you already own

If you’re thinking about starting a beauty blog, chances are that you probably already own a lot of beauty products. A great place to start is by reviewing products that you already own and have used.

Borrow products from family and friends

Maybe you have a sister or best friend who has some great products, ask them if they’d mind you borrowing them to create a make up look. You can also ask them for their thoughts on the products.

Post about the latest beauty news

Write a post about the latest make up releases. There will be stock photos available for you to use and you don’t need to spend any money buying them. While you obviously can’t review them, you can still tell your readers about upcoming launches and your thoughts on them.

Sign up to test products

There is a websites like LatestFreeStuff that tell you how to get free products. These are a great way to get new products without spending any money.

Enter giveaways

Lots of bloggers host giveaways, often with bundles of products. So enter as many as you can, and if you’re lucky enough to win you’ll have a bunch of products to review.

Look out for make-up sales on blogs

Quite a few bloggers often sell make up they’ve either bought or received at great discounted prices. They often either not be used or only swatched for reviews. Keep your eye out for these as it’s a great way to save money on products especially high end ones.

Check magazines for freebies

Often magazines will offer free products when you buy the magazine. I’ve seen some great products over the years, so if you’re going to be buying magazines anyway, it’s a great way to get a free product.

I hope you found this article helpful, if you have any other tips please share them below.

  1. I was having this issue not too long ago and wrote a blog post about it as well. I felt overwhelmed and I felt like there are so many products that I wanted to review and use not just for my blog but personally. It can get hard to keep up with everything going on in the beauty world.
I do think beauty hacks could be a great option if you’re on a budget. All you need is time to do research and it doesn’t cost much to purchase essential oils, herbs, or other natural products which might also be found in your own kitchen.
