If you are looking for a quick and easy hummus recipe, keep on reading!
Growing up I never had the pleasure to taste the magical wonder that is hummus. I was fed chicken kiev and chips, so my palette was, shall I say a little under developed. It was only after I left home and move abroad that I started discovering all these amazing new foods. One of them being hummus. I don’t know how I lived before without it, as I literally eat it all the time – I like mine with carrot sticks!
So if you fancy trying to make some hummus at home, here’s my simple yet delicious hummus recipe:
1 can of chickpeas (washed and drained)
2 table spoons of olive oil
1 crushed garlic glove
1 lemon (squeezed into juice)
1 teaspoon of tahini
1 teaspoon of cumin
How to make it:
Literally shove everything into a food processor and whizz for 2-3 mins. If the consistency is a little thick for your liking, add a couple of table spoons of water and whizz again.
Cover, and refrigerate then – enjoy once cold.
That’s it, it’s that easy! It will also last up to 7 days in the fridge, so you can enjoy hummus all week long! I normally make a big batch on a Sunday afternoon and that does me for the week.
